What You Need to Know

Petroglyph Park will showcase the age of megafauna—a time when large mammals ruled the earth.  Their reign began after the dinosaurs became extinct, at the end of the cretaceous period (65 million years ago) and ended during the late Pleistocene epoch around the time when hominins began appearing (125 thousand years ago).

Dinosaurs have been a fixture in our culture for a long time, maybe because of their size and ferocity.  It’s amazing to know that they ruled the earth at one time. Their size and power evoke a world the captures our attention and holds us in awe.  By contrast, megafauna are relatively unknown, yet they carry the same impact with their size and ferocity, and they are every bit as awesome as the dinosaurs.  In fact, they are even more exciting than dinosaurs because when we look at them, we can see that we still live with their direct descendants today.

The purpose of this park would be to introduce the public to this magnificent period.  Since it will be largely new to the general public, it will immerse, excite, educate and entertain the audience like no amusement park has done in recent times.  Our park will rekindle all the excitement that dinosaur themed parks used to have before they became passé. Our park will certainly entertain and thrill the public.  The educational aspects will give parents an added incentive to come to the park and to bring their kids. They will be startled to learn how little they actually know about this period and they will be anxious to continue through the park to keep on learning and having fun!   Petroglyph park will make every effort to be historically and scientifically accurate and the portrayals will be highly realistic, immersive and breathtaking.

The goal of the park will be to use every technology and theatrical device to engage all of the senses.  You will see the dense megaflora, smell the animals, and hear them breathing close behind you. It may be a saber tooth tiger!  Suddenly you will remember that some of these gigantic animals are predatory carnivores and you look like a tasty tidbit! Perhaps you will feel real fear or the rush of adrenaline when the fight or flight reflex kicks in!  Or perhaps you will just feel awe as you find yourself surrounded by a herd of building sized woolly mammoths grazing with their offspring on a grassy field.

The experience will continue even underwater where the virtual reality will put you into direct contact with some of the largest creatures ever to inhabit the earth like the voracious megalodon—a 60-foot shark.  Will you be its next appetizer?

In short, Petroglyph Park will provide you with an enlightening, all consuming, wildly entertaining and thoroughly exhausting experience.  It will be the best entertainment money any family could spend, and it will attract audiences from around the world!
